Healing
Axonal Neuropathy will make my life even more complicated.
Of course, I will turn another diagnosis into something to embrace and turn over to God. That’s what I do faithfully and consciously. It makes me wonder if once I turn my life over to the Holy Spirit, does that remove my wants from the equation? Many years ago, as a Charismatic Catholic, I would hear about Healers, but never met one. I sure wish that Movement was still active around me.
What is axonal neuropathy? I put my AI - Copilot to work.
🧠What is Axonal Neuropathy?
Axonal neuropathy is a form of peripheral neuropathy, which refers to damage to the peripheral nerves—those outside the brain and spinal cord. In axonal neuropathy, the axon, the long thread-like part of a nerve cell that transmits signals, is damaged.
My Left Foot (I’ve got to watch that movie again, but I’ll bet its on Prime and they’ll charge me to watch it because it was an Academy Award winner) doesn’t feel normal sensations. It only makes pain. I told my osteopath that me and Jesus have something in common. We both have nails driven through our feet. That’s how bad the pain can be sometimes.
Copilot helped me write this blessing for myself and anyone else who might be experiencing this kind of pain.
Blessing for a Foot That Feels Too Much, or Not Enough
May this foot, this faithful traveler,
be wrapped in kindness and care.
Where sensation flickers or fades,
may grace flow like warm water.
Bless the nerves that whisper,
when their messages are tangled.
Bless the muscles with effort,
even when effort is fruitless.
May each step—felt or imagined—
be a grounding prayer.
May shoes become sanctuary,
and socks a soft liturgy of protection.
Let healing come in its own time,
and peace arrive with every step.
This foot is not forgotten.
It is held, honored, and holy.
It also wrote this mantra as a ritual for dressing my foot.
Mantra for Bracing and Stepping
I brace with grace.
I step with strength.
This foot is held.
This path is mine.
